At a young age Lea knew she wanted to be a mother and a teacher.
Her love for learning started in Kindergarten, which she vividly remembers, and that love continued until the 2nd grade. This is the year Lea learned that not all teachers create the caring, welcoming and engaging classroom she was used to. It was the year she didn’t love school and if it hadn’t been for her 3rd and 4th grade teachers, she probably would have never learned to love school again.
Never wanting a student to leave her class feeling unloved, unworthy, or unable to learn Lea has set out to make sure that both her classroom and she are welcoming and put the students at the forefront of the decisions being made.
She brings over 20 years of combined experience in childcare, afterschool programs and teaching in classrooms from birth to third grade. She teaches her students that the world is at their fingertips and they are the only ones in their way of getting everything they want in life.
Her motto is “there is nothing that can’t be learned” and she wholeheartedly believes that students learn best when they construct their own knowledge and are able to use their voices.
